League News/Report - Week 2 -

Manchester roared into the lead thrashing out what little life there was left in the beleaguered Aussie bunch 7 matches to 1 (at least they got 1 victory this week)
The tennis was great and the social side was hilarious. We had about 25 attendees with 3 from Fontainebleau earning their team bonus points.
Ballarat were very creative - Cecilia Forbes brought a 'bloomin onion' from the Outback, Rob Carlson some Aussie wine, apple pie and a hat, Sara Lacombe some super cool left handed Aussie wine, Beth Curren with lovely cookies. Kris was their creative champ though with a little sample bottle of Aussie wine, bottles of Fosters lager and a brilliant bribe in the form of a packet of chocolate biscuits from England and the most magnificent red hat from Liverpool Football Club (the greatest team in the world) winning his team a massive 15 points!!
Jason Hirama also pulled in some big bonus points by bringing his friend Enriche for his first look at our superb club and boy did he look the part both on and off court.
When it rains it pours in Manchester and that's the way it was from the get go. Erich Eiselt kicked our night off with a massive portion of Chicken Vindaloo - spicy and delicious! Plenty of bonus points there!! The rest of the damage was done on the court with Larry Brown and Sara Lacombe the oppositions only victors. Will Simonds and Kris Motz came very close to beating Ryan Carey and I however our nerves held out and we clinched it 6/5.
Yiannis Mostrous, his wife Namrata and their lovely daughter, Kornelia were all there earning us a bonus point for the first complete family to attend.
News Flash Liverpool just went 1 nil up against Everton for a glorious bonus point for us!!! Super super Steve, super super Steve, super super Steve, super Stevie Gerard!!!
It was a really enjoyable evening and everybody has entered into the 'spirit' of this years league. The final bonus points were awarded to Erich and Rob for being there at the death and making a great job of tidying up.
This Thursday sees the mighty Mancs taking on some random bunch of Frenchies so hopefully I'll be reporting in a similar way next week.
